Destination Weddings in Kerala

Backwaters, hill stations and beaches — extraordinary settings, sourced and managed end to end. You choose the place; we handle everything that makes it work.

The Idea

A Wedding That Travels Well

A destination wedding trades convenience for atmosphere. A lake at Kumarakom, a tea estate in Munnar or a clifftop at Bekal gives you a celebration no banquet hall can — and asks, in return, for far more careful planning than a wedding down the road.

Everything that a city venue takes for granted becomes a decision: how guests get there, where they sleep, what happens when the vendor you need is three hours away, and what you do if the monsoon arrives early. A destination wedding is not a harder version of an ordinary one — it is a different kind of project, and it rewards a planner who has done it before.

We source the setting, manage the property, move the vendors, and choreograph the guest experience across several days so that the distance feels like part of the gift rather than an imposition.

Where

Kerala's Finest Settings

Each makes a completely different wedding. We help you choose the one that fits your family, not just your Pinterest board.

Kumarakom

Lakeside lawns and private estates on the Vembanad backwaters, with jetty arrivals and houseboat events.

Munnar

Tea-country resorts at altitude, where mist and cool evenings do what no décor budget can.

Bekal & Kasaragod

Fort, beach and clifftop venues in the dramatic, still-quiet far north.

Kovalam

Cliff-top lawns and beach resorts on the Arabian Sea, near the capital’s hotels.

Alleppey

Canal-side properties and houseboat sangeets through the Kuttanad backwaters.

Wayanad & Thekkady

Plantation and spice-hill estates in the Western Ghats, green year-round.

What We Manage

The Work Behind the Setting

Venue & property

Sourcing, site visits, rate negotiation and contract review — including the questions specific to remote venues: exclusive use, generator backup, curfews, and whether the rate is for the whole property or one wing.

Guest logistics

Room blocks, airport and station transfers, a clear arrival schedule and a runner on hand between events. At a destination, hospitality is half the wedding.

Vendor movement

The photographer, décor and makeup team often travel with the celebration. We handle their transport, accommodation and timing so their distance never becomes your problem.

Multi-day choreography

Destination weddings are rarely one event. Welcome dinner, mehendi, sangeet, ceremony, reception, farewell brunch — each planned as part of a single arc across two or three days.

Weather contingency

Every outdoor moment gets a genuine indoor fallback, not a promise of tenting arranged on the day. In Kerala this is non-negotiable, in season or out.

The guest information pack

What to wear to each event, what the weather will really be, how long each journey takes — a small courtesy that removes a disproportionate amount of anxiety.

Good to Know

What a Destination Wedding Asks of You

A longer runway

Remote venues and travelling guests mean starting earlier — 10 to 12 months for peak season.

A committed guest list

Distance self-selects. Expect a smaller, more present group than a city wedding of the same invite list.

A realistic budget

Travel, accommodation and vendor movement add real cost. We build these in from the first proposal.

Trust in the plan

You cannot supervise a venue three hours away. The point of a planner is that you should not have to.

★★★★★

“A monsoon wedding sounded risky — they turned it into the most magical part of the whole celebration. Beautifully thought through.”

Common Questions

Destination Weddings — FAQs

Any wedding where the venue is away from the couple’s home city and most guests travel and stay overnight — a backwater resort, a hill-station estate or a beach property. The defining feature is that hospitality and logistics become as important as the ceremony itself.

It depends on your season, guest count and family. Kumarakom suits lakeside celebrations, Munnar is ideal in winter, Bekal offers drama for smaller groups, and Kovalam works for beach ceremonies. We shortlist against your specifics rather than a single favourite.

Travel, accommodation and vendor movement add cost, but a smaller, self-selected guest list often offsets it. We build these factors into the first proposal so there are no surprises later.

10 to 12 months for a peak-season date. Remote venues have limited capacity and fill early, and travelling guests need notice to arrange flights and leave.

Yes, and rates are considerably lower. It requires genuine contingency — covered walkways, a real indoor fallback for every outdoor moment and honest guidance to guests. Handled well, monsoon weddings are among the most atmospheric we plan.

Yes. Room blocks, airport and station transfers, arrival schedules and on-ground hospitality are all part of the engagement — it is where destination weddings are won or lost.

They can, and often should. We manage the transport, accommodation and timing of any travelling vendors so their distance never disrupts your day.

Frequently. We plan the whole celebration over video, coordinate arrivals from abroad, and manage every on-ground detail so you can plan from anywhere.
