Kottayam Is Where We Work From
Most planners who take Kottayam weddings drive in from Kochi. We don’t — our atelier is on TB Road at Eerayil Kadavu, and the venues, churches, caterers and decorators we work with are the ones we have known for years rather than found for the occasion.
That difference shows up in ordinary ways. We know which auditorium’s parking fails at four hundred guests, which caterer holds a sadya properly through a long church service, and which Kumarakom property is genuinely worth its rate in monsoon. It also means we can meet your family in person, more than once, without it becoming an expedition.
Kottayam district also gives us an unusual range within a short drive: the churches of Kerala’s Syrian Christian heartland, major temples at Ettumanoor and Vaikom, and the backwaters at Kumarakom — arguably the finest destination-wedding setting in the state, twenty minutes from our desk.

Syrian Christian & church weddings
Kottayam is the heart of Kerala’s Syrian Christian community, and church weddings here carry customs that vary meaningfully between Knanaya, Orthodox, Jacobite, Marthoma and Catholic families. We work with parishes across the district on booking, the nuptial service, choir and floral arrangements, and the reception that follows — and we know that Lent and other seasons narrow the calendar considerably.
Temple weddings
Thirunakkara Mahadeva Temple in town, Ettumanoor Mahadeva and Vaikom Mahadeva a short drive away — each with its own arrangements around muhurtham timing, permissions and ritual. We coordinate the ceremony, the melam, the sadya and the reception as a single sequence.
Kumarakom backwater weddings
Kumarakom sits within Kottayam district, which makes a lakeside destination wedding a local project for us rather than a travelling one. Lawns on the water, houseboat sangeets and jetty arrivals — planned with the monsoon contingencies these venues genuinely need.
NRI weddings
A great many Kottayam families have relatives in the Gulf, the UK and North America, and a large share of our enquiries come from abroad. We plan over video, manage vendor advances, and coordinate arrivals into a district served by Kottayam railway station and roughly ninety minutes from Cochin International Airport.

The first conversation is complimentary, and for local families it is usually easiest in person. Our atelier is on TB Road near Kalyan Silks at Eerayil Kadavu, a short distance from the town centre and easily reached from the railway station.
Bring whatever you already have — a muhurtham, a church date, a guest estimate, a Pinterest board, or nothing at all. We will talk through what is realistic for your budget and season before anyone signs anything.

A Kottayam Wedding Timeline
For a peak-season date we recommend starting 10 to 12 months out.
12–10 months
Fix the date — muhurtham or parish availability — and secure the venue. Kumarakom properties and the larger auditoriums go early.
9–7 months
Appoint photographer, decorator and caterer. Begin accommodation planning for outstation and overseas family.
6–4 months
Finalise design, menus and transport. Order invitations and confirm the sequence of events.
3–2 months
Tastings, trials and décor mock-ups. Invitations out, RSVPs open.
1 month
Run-sheets confirmed with every vendor, both families briefed, final headcounts settled.
Wedding week
Rehearsals, arrivals, vendor marshalling and full on-ground coordination by us.
